Laboratory reports.
Every figure below is transcribed from the laboratory's own document, and every card shows how to pull up the original with that laboratory. Two kinds of report appear here: a lot verification, which tests the very lot printed on the vial, and a reference report, an outside test of the batch the manufacturer made.
No report for this strength's current lot is on this page yet. Every report we have published sits in the library on the Lab reports page, each with the reference to check it at the laboratory.
TB-500.
TB-500 is a trade name, not one defined molecule. It refers to a synthetic peptide built on a single short region of thymosin beta-4, the actin-binding motif, rather than on the full protein. Different suppliers have used the name for different constructs, so the exact sequence of each PuraCore lot is written on that lot's certificate, and the certificate is what defines the material.
The parent protein has 43 residues. Allan Goldstein's laboratory first characterized it from calf thymus in the early 1980s, and it ranks among the most abundant small proteins found in mammalian cells. Actin, the partner of its best-known motif, forms much of a cell's internal scaffolding.
PuraCore offers no advice on how any material is used, prepared or applied. Deciding whether it fits your research rests with you or your institution.
