Overview

Selank.

Selank is seven residues long. The first four, Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg, are tuftsin, a fragment found naturally inside a larger antibody protein. The last three, Pro-Gly-Pro, were added to make the chain harder for enzymes to break down than tuftsin on its own.

That extension came from the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which put the same Pro-Gly-Pro tail on Semax. One vial holds 10 mg of freeze-dried powder.
