Overview

Semax.

Semax joins two pieces. Met-Glu-His-Phe is positions 4 to 7 of adrenocorticotropic hormone; Pro-Gly-Pro follows, the same tail later given to Selank. Together they form a linear chain of seven residues, one of which, the methionine, carries sulfur.

It was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Moscow during the 1980s, the home of much of the work on these extended fragments. PuraCore supplies 10 mg of freeze-dried powder per vial.
